IASSID Ad Hoc Committee on International Multi-centre Research Ethics

This committee was established in 2002, at the request of the IASSID President. Its purpose is to identify issues associated with the establishment and implementation of international multi-centre research projects and to propose mechanisms to promote international co-operation with such research. In particular, the committee is examining what mechanisms are in place to provide for the ethics review of international, multi-centre projects and what mechanisms need to be established before these projects can proceed; especially projects involving participants from developing countries.

All inquiries and contributions to the work of the committee are very welcome, particularly from individuals and/or organisations that are either conducting research or contemplating such activities with individuals with intellectual disabilities who reside in developing countries.

You can download the draft report here : Guidelines for Multi-center Research
