The Employment Affinity Group has scheduled its first roundtable for April 2006
to be held in St. Petersburg, Russia. The first roundtable is the combined product
of the Employment AG, the St. Petersburg Research and Practice Center of Rehabilitation
N.A. Albrekht and municipality of St. Petersburg.

Objective
IASSID Employment Affinity Group's Roundtable is a combined effort of the Employment
Affinity Group, St. Petersburg Research and Practice Center of Rehabilitation
N.A. Albrekht and St. Petersburg Administration.
The Roundtable begins on April 26th and concludes on the afternoon of April
28th. The theme of the Roundtable is "Developing Better Ways of Employment
for People with Developmental Disabilities." We invite specialists from
different countries to attend and exchange their opinions about different ways
of providing and supporting employment for people with intellectual disability,
autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, or with other developmental disabilities.
The results of Roundtable will be a summary of ongoing research, an appraisal
of the need for future research and recommendations for pathways to translate
research into public policy and practice.
The Roundtable will be composed of two days plenary sessions and discussions,
focusing on different aspects of the topic.
A global agenda for the Roundtable meeting:

* New impulses for supported employment
* Actions in the future
* Possibilities for combined research

Research and Practice Center of Rehabilitation N.A. Albrekht (Bestugevskaja str.,
50) and the Roundtable (27-28.04.2006) in the Professional Rehabilitation Centre
in St. Petersburg, 26th Linia, 9.
The Roundtable hotel is the Novotel located in the centre of the city (Mayakovskogo

Registration Information
Beginning on 1 February 2006, advanced registration for the Roundtable can be
done on the IASSID website: www.iassid.org.
Registration fee includes visits to sheltered workshops, lunches, coffee breaks,
2 receptions during the Roundtable and the 7% VAT.
