Wang outlined the work of the local planning committee and invited comments
and suggestions.

The IASSID Asia-Pacific Congress Committee met in Singapore on April 17, 2004.
Chairperson Dr. Kuo-yu Wang outlined the work of the local planning committee
and invited comments and suggestions. The Inaugural Congress is planned for
Taipei, Taiwan on June 12-15, 2005 and will be held at the Howard International
Guest House Conference Hall. The theme of the 2005 Congress is "Life Course
Perspective of Research on People with Intellectual Disabilities: Global Trends
and Local Strategies."

Programme and Schedule
The local organizing committee is composed of representatives from the National
Chung Cheng University, the Special Education Association of Taiwan, the Taiwan
Social Welfare Association, Taiwan Parents Associations of People with Intellectual
Disabilities, Social Work Association of Taiwan, Occupational Therapy Association
of Taiwan, Physical Therapy Association of Taiwan, and the Pediatric Association
of Taiwan.
Sponsorship is being provided by the National Science Council of Taiwan, the
Ministry of Education, the Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Health, and
the Bureau of National Health Insurance.
Abstracts are invited and must be submitted not later than February 1, 2005.
