The Forum Conference Center is located in the center of the town of Volos. Volos is a cultural and tourist center thanks to its geographical location at the foot of Mount Pelion. It is a city where you can spend all year round owing to its sandy beaches and crystal clear waters and to its snowy white Mt. Pelion. The city of the legendary Centaurs, it is the site especially chosen by the ancient gods for their weddings, hospitality and celebrations.

Saturday, May 3 Program Sessions III & IV and Complimentary Dinner
Sunday, May 5 Social Program - Free time for exploring seashore village and/or villages in Mount Pelion. Excursions will be arranged.

Call for Papers and Posters:
The call for papers will be issued October 2003. Select papers will be invited to be presented in accord with the roundtable session topics. Open posters are welcome.

Registration Information:
Registration and fee information for IASSID members and non-members will be posted October 2003.


Special Pre-Meeting on Demographic Studies Standardization:
A pre-meeting on demographic studies standardization will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2003. This meeting is being organized with the explicit intent to develop universal guidelines for demographic and epidemiological studies involving adults with intellectual disabilities. Participation in this meeting is by special arrangement. This meeting is open to IASSID members with interest or experience in large-scale population studies. Getting to Volos:
Volos is approximately 4 hours from Athens (326 km.) and 2 hours from Thessalonika (215 km.). Travel can be by train, bus, taxi or rental car. Both cities have international airports. It should be noted that the transportation costs in Greece are fairly inexpensive in comparison to other EU countries. Information about getting to Volos will be posted at a later date.
