Journal of Policy and Practice in Intellectual Disabilities Editor-in-Chief Matthew P. Janicki, Ph.D. University of Illinois at Chicago Call for Papers Guidance for Special Issues Instructions for Contributors Subscribing to JPPID Table of Contents Vol 1 Number 1 The Journal of Policy and Practice in Intellectual Disabilities now accepts manuscripts only electronically . For complete detailed instructions on uploading your manuscript, please read the submission instructions on the Journal of Policy and Practice in Intellectual Disabilities online submission site: ( http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jppid ). Authors with no Internet connection should contact the Editorial Office for instructions on submitting ( [email protected]). IASSID publishes the JPPID, an international, peer-reviewed journal produced in conjunction with Blackwell Publishing and the Tosinvest Organization of Italy. JPPID is a peer-reviewed publication published four times a year and is designed to provide a forum for description of evidence-based policy and practice related to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The JPPID is designed to compliment IASSID's other publication, the Journal of Intellectual Disability Research, which is also published by Blackwell Publishing, but owned by the MENCAP organization in the United Kingdom. JPPID focuses on policy development, service design, working methods and treatment procedures, financial, administrative and legal frameworks, and approaches to service user empowerment which are formed by research. Articles included those that report research, analyses, reviews, theoretical constructs, and other work exploring both tested ideas in policy and practice and possible future directions. IASSID has opted to include policy and practice analyses that provide a framework for ideas and information that can readily translate into situations other than the author's own country. JPPID also publishes brief reports of practice experiences documented by evidence-based research or data-based outcomes. In addition, JPPID publishes briefs or abstracts that translate and comment on work previously published in non-English journals, announcements of relevance to IASSID members, and reviews of relevant publications. IASSID policy welcomes submissions from anywhere in the world, but requires that content must be sufficiently general to apply to various national environments. The Tosinvest Sanit B Organization of Italy provides the underwriting for the JPPID and for the distribution of copies to colleagues residing in developing market economy countries.
