To renew your membership by paying off-line or by check

You may renew your membership by sending a check (in US$ funds) to Box 671, URMC, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, New York, 14642 USA or by forwarding your credit card details (card number, expiry date, and name on card) to the IASSID address or by faxing this information to 1 585-276-2701. Please contact [email protected] first if you plan to use an electronic bank transfer.

Information on membership categories

Full Members receive a subscription to the Journal of Policy & Practice in Intellectual Disabilities (JPPID) -- the official IASSID international journal, and are entitled to a substantial discount to the IASSID regional and world congresses as well as other IASSID-related events. Full, student and pensioner members may also obtain a reduced-rate subscription to the Journal of Intellectual Disability Research (JIDR).

Subscriptions to the IASSID journals include print versions and on-line access at Blackwell Publishing's Synergy. Membership benefits also include discounts for IASSID books and registrations to SIRG (Special Interest Research Groups) roundtables and regional IASSID meetings, as well as memberships and leadership in SIRGs and Affinity Groups and voting rights in IASSID.

As of 2007, Full Members may affiliate with any or all of IASSID's Special Interest Research Groups at no extra cost. (On the member information form simply indicate your SIRG affiliations.)

NOTE: All members who subscribe to the JPPID, as well as those who subscribe to JIDR, will receive a print version and also have unlimited access to the on-line versions of both journals (as well as limited archival facility). A Note on IASSID's Journals

The Journal of Policy & Practice in Intellectual Disabilities (JPPID) is the IASSID's official journal and is issued quarterly, beginning with April. Volumes 1-5 (2004-200_) are available for on-line access via Blackwell Publishing's Synergy for all JPPID's 2009 subscribers. The annual individual subscription price for JPPID, if not obtained through IASSID membership is US$149.00. JPPID is supported by a grant from the Tosinvest Sanita Organization in Italy.

The Journal of Intellectual Disability Research (JIDR) is affiliated with IASSID and owned by MENCAP. JIDR is published 12 times a year. All back volumes are available for on-line access via Blackwell Publishing's Synergy for all JIDR's 2008 subscribers. The annual individual subscription price for JIDR, if not obtained through IASSID membership is US$149.00.

Other Subscriptions

IASSID members can obtain a sizable discount on subscriptions to a range of Blackwell Publishing's journals and books. Members are also eligible to obtain a discount to Taylor and Francis' Journal of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. FAQs

How do I pay for two years?

You can also pay for two years (for 2009 and 2010). If you wish to pay for two years, indicate 2 in the quantity box on the SHOPPING CART page (for two memberships in the same category) and the discount for a two-year payment will automatically be noted. By paying for two years you can save US$5.00 on the membership fee and are protected from any increases in the second year.

How do I pay for more than one membership?

If you wish to pay for two or more memberships using the same credit card, please enter each member's information separately. That is, enter the first member's information, pay, and close out the sequence, and then enter the second member's information, pay, and close out the sequence.

How do I pay for my SIRG membership?

As of 2007, Full Members may affiliate with any number of IASSID's SIRGs at no extra cost. Students and Pensioner Members are welcome to pay an additional US$20 fee to obtain this privilege. For Students and Pensioners, to pay for the SIRG affiliation option, first indicate your choice(s) of SIRG on the member information form. Once you have submitted this form you will be directed to the payment page where you can indicate your choice of membership in the shopping cart. To pay the SIRG membership click on the left hand menu under SIRG fees in the Browse categories and add to your shopping cart. Please be sure to have indicated which SIRGs you are joining on the member information form.

What if I need an invoice?

We have provided a reproducible invoice for you to use if your organization needs one. The invoice is organized as PDF file. To reproduce the invoice, print the PDF file and print or type in the information requested. If you know your member number, use that in the invoice number (as in 08-xxxx). How can I get a membership form?

If you prefer to complete a membership form and mail it in with your payment, or wish to make up copies for distribution at a meeting or conference, you can download and print the one available from this page. How do I use the payment pages?

1. Indicate your choice of membership level by clicking on the ADD TO CART button next to your choice. You will see your purchases displayed on the left side of the page. If you make a mistake, you may click on the small X box next to the item. This will show a box asking if you wish to cancel this item.

2. When you are finished, click on the "Check Out Now" button. You will be automatically taken to the Billing and Shipping Information pages.

3. On the Billing Information page, complete all the information requested, including your postal address, telephone, and email address. Click on the "Next Step" button. On the Shipping Information page provide the postal address that we can use to send IASSID correspondence and journals to you. Click on the "Next Step" button.

4. On the Shipping Options page, click the"Next Step" button as there are no shipping charges.

5. On the Review page, please verify the items for which you wish to pay and your billing and shipping information.

6. On the Payment page, please provide your credit card number (VISA, MasterCard, or AMEX). The card verification value number (CW2 code) is the 3 or 4 digit number - following your card number on the back of the card - where the number is printed on the signature strip. Do not put spaces between the card numbers. To complete your purchase, click on "CHECK OUT."

7. The next page should tell you your order has been accepted. If you run into problems with payment, use the BACK BUTTON to check to see if your credit card number has been entered correctly. Some banks will not permit on-line credit card purchases if you are using a card that expires the same month as the purchase. Please check with your bank if this is the case.
